Monthly Letter

Dear Friends

I am writing this in the warm spring sunshine, looking out at the daffodils, and the lambs skipping in the fields. Somehow spring is filled with so much hope. It is like watching the glory of God slowly emerging, after the long dark days of winter slowly slip away.

Easter was a true celebration in Brookland with a very special visitor, no less than the Archbishop of Canterbury himself, who attended the Easter Eve service. My thanks to all who worked so hard in preparing the church, and the children who did Brookland proud, very much putting Brookland on the map with their beautiful reading of Genesis – reminding us of the story of creation itself.

So as a Church we wish to continue that feeling of hope and warmth. Having heard many a person bemoan the fact that the pub is shut – we have a rather temporary solution. On Sat May 25th we have applied for a drinks licence – for the Bell Tower ! So if you want to catch up with old friends, or maybe make some new ones – do come along on the evening of 25th May. You will be most welcome. Be the first to come to “The Bell at Brookland” ! We will be serving, beer wine, Gin and tonic and soft drinks. And if it is a success – why not offer to help out at a future event ? The bell tower is a unique building which I know many local people have never been inside. Now is your chance !

As we move through spring, let us be truly thankful for living in such a beautiful part of the country, and enjoy every breath taking moment.

God Bless
